It's Been a While

I have been wanting to blog for a while but did not have anything to say. I have not had my camera, and what's a post without pictures!

Adam and I just got back from a one night get-a-way for our anniversary. We went to the Mount Magazine Lodge for our get-a-way.  We were both so excited and decided we would get there early so we could go hiking before we had to check-in. Well, when we got there we were a little shocked............
As you can tell it was so foggy, we could not see 20 feet in front of us. We thought about hiking other trails but since we couldn't see we thought that would be a bad idea!! When we left to go on our hike we passed a father and daughter and had to ask where the entrance to the trail was because we couldn't see! They pointed us in the right direction, and off we went. Strangely when we reached the highest point there was the father/daughter duo. The strange part was we had not passed them on the way up.  We got them to take our picture and then they wanted us to take their picture.  To make a long story short the father told us about the short-cut they had taken and beaten us to the top. He asked if we wanted to follow them down since it was quicker.     PAUSE...(Let me just tell you it wasn't until we were half way down the short-cut, following a strange man with his daughter in the rear, that I thought this might be a bad idea. They might be leading us to a spot where they will murder us and leave us for the bears!!! I guess we felt safe since had a GPS.... :O) I tend to be a little too trusting !
Luckily they were not serial killers and led us back to the natural trail.  After we departed from our new friends, I looked at Adam and asked him if he was leery about our decision to follow strangers. He had the same feeling but just went with it! Guess we are both too trusting!

We had such a great time and just enjoyed each other's company! It was a beautiful place and we had an awesome room. I am going to post pictures only because if you are wanting to visit they don't show pictures on their website.

This was our view when we got there.
And this was our view the next day.
Such an improvement!

4 Great years and more to come!

Until Next Time,
Averie

PS. Found this picture when I borrowed my Mother In Law's camera!!

Happy Anniversary

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, ADAM!

Four years ago today, Adam and I were married at my parents home in Lewisville, AR.  A lot has happened in four years.  We added Hoss to our family, my parents are selling their house in Lewisville, my sister had two more children, we've been through 4 Harvest, and we continue to see God's blessings throughout our lives.  I pray that Adam and I will always look to God for guidance through the good times and the bad.  I also pray that Adam and I can be Christian parents that raise a God fearing child who will serve the one that died for him!

Thank you Jesus,
Averie

Shin-Dig

Over the weekend we had a community/church Fall/Halloween Party! We have such a great time in our small community especially with church friends.  Since Ross is not old enough for the trick-or-treating thing, we decided to dress him up anyway and take him to the party.  His Halloween costume has been passed down from cousin to cousin. (My how I love hand-me-downs!) Mom made the costume, and I think she did a great job.

There were some sweet babies there in their cute costumes!
Lil' Monkey
Sweet Elephant

This young cowboy was going to another Halloween party and Adam loaned him his costume.  I think it is HILARIOUS how the costume fits him perfect!! The little cowboy legs look so real on him.  It's more believable on him than Adam.

It's nice to have so many baby-sitters around that will carry "HOSS" around for a while. Especially when I've been holding him on my hip for the past hour...It wares a momma out! I can't imagine having twins. God bless their souls and hips, arms, back, etc..!

I have to admit our little Fall/Halloween Shin-Dig was a wee bit different than your normal Halloween Party.  Yes, we did roast wienies and have hot chocolate, but we also sang Hymns! We had our own entertainment, consisting of our Grandpa B and other friends from church.  We sat around the fire and sang a long! (OK, maybe everybody didn't sing along including Cousin J sitting on the hay bale...but it was still a joyful sound!) :o)

Happy Fall/Halloween!
