Merry Christmas from the Family

This month has flown by, and I can't believe it is already Christmas! We tend to always rush and rush and then Christmas goes by and you don't take the time to actually enjoy this special time. At church a few Sundays back our preacher used Ross as an example, and I about lost it!! He was preaching on how God gave his only Son, so he may die for you! So he came and got Ross and took him to the front of the church and asked Adam, " Would you give your only son to die for us?" WOW! It really hit home, because there is no way I would ever give my  son to die for all people in the world, but isn't it amazing that God gave us such a special GIFT so that we can spend eternity with Him and His Son in Heaven!!!! I can't put it into words how humbling that moment was for me. I realized that I take things for granted to many times and overlook the mercy and grace that God has for us, even when we forget! So during this Christmas, I am going to thank God, with my family and friends, that he did give his only Son so that I may live with them forever!!

I am going to leave you with a few pictures of our busy, but fun time we have been having around here!!

Finally!

Well, I am glad to say that our floor is finally finished! It seemed like we had been living out of a tent for a week, but it only makes us appreciate our new floor even more!! It's amazing what a new floor and a little paint will do for a room.

 BEFORE

                                           AFTER

Notice our 'child proof' Christmas tree.  I decided that it would be so much easier to put our tree up off the floor .
Thank goodness that Ross is feeling better. We have been battling a major cold for over two weeks, and the Doctor's encouraging words were "He will have his runny nose til' about March!" Great!!! Guess we will keep Boogie(sp) Wipes in business.

Now I'm off to watch Christmas Vacation (for the 1,000th time) and catch up on my DVR shows.

Until Next Time,

Stressed

Adam and I ripped up our entire vinyl floor and moved all furniture outside. That same day the floor guy called and said the floor we ordered had been damaged and  a new shipment wouldn't be in until next Wednesday. That was a week ago. This is how we have been living for a solid week!! Needless to say I am so excited to get our floors tomorrow morning!!!

Ross had to be caged in the back rooms to keep him safe!!

After pics to come, and soon!!

Am I Crazy?

Over the weekend, several of us got together and ran in the St. Jude's Marathon weekend. Adam and I ran in the 5k Race and everyone else ran the half marathon.  We had such a great time, and I was inspired in more ways than one! We got there Friday and walked around downtown Memphis looking for a great place to eat. The group of people we were with, wanted to load up on CARBS before their big race. I could have cared less! I wanted to eat ribs, BBQ, fried fish, etc. whatever I could get my hands on because I was STARVING!!  We ran across this restaurant that was having race specials, and it looked pretty good from the front.  But as we walked in we were abruptly hit in the face with this ridiculous smell! No one said anything about the smell until afterwards. We all ordered the Pasta Special, and I was a little concerned with this idea because written in the description of the dish they listed "dark chicken broth!" OK, really!! I know that you use chicken broth in a lot of things, but do you really have to list it, as if "dark chicken broth" is an exquisite ingredient!! Well what we got was an over advertised plate of chicken and noodle soup with olives! It was awful, and the smell that hit us in the face when we walked in, happened to be something in this pasta special.

After we left we made a pit stop at a local convenient store and splurged on snickers, granola bars, and whatever we could find that would get the awful taste out of our mouth! One good thing, is I believe it did give us plenty of energy the next day at the race!!

6:30 am Meeting up for our group pic with Wiley, then the 5k!

My bro-in-law and sis, my motivators!

Adam and I before our 5k.

Wiley and his team!

Wish I would have dressed like Captain America, because it would have been warmer!

If all these people can run a half marathon, so can I!! MOTIVATION!!

Finishing the half: after 2 and half hours or less!

Big Rob: No! He isn't worn out!

My Crazy family! and YES Big Rob's shirt is soaking wet!

Our inspiration, Wiley King!

Now home and the St. Jude's Marathon over, I am inspired to train for a half marathon! Yes, I know I swore I would never run a half marathon, but I always eat my words! I need some running buddies to keep me motivated and make me run when I want to quit! Any takers? Hopefully I will be ready to run the Little Rock Half Marathon in March!! Wish me luck!

Until Next Time,

Averie

PS. We are redoing our floor, before and after pics to come!

By the way, from time to time I do misspell words. Please overlook my mistakes!! (Chrisanna and Robert!)
