Questions?

3 YEARS!! Really? It's been three years since my first born arrived in this world. WOW...

I remember that day so well. Actually an all nighter with  my water breaking at 1:45am, Adam and I frantically driving to the hospital. Running every red light, and being chased down by cops. OK, no, we were not really chased down by cops, but I really think Adam would have  had a blast if so!! I remember him flooring it, just because he could. I was just waiting on Ross to be born in the car, because I just knew at any minute he would make his grand debut! But wow, aren't new parents wrong, in more ways than one. Not only did we make it to the hospital, but Adam was able to drive the speed limit and still had time to spare before contractions kicked in full gear.

Ross finally arrived that next morning. I was in complete utter shock when he was born. I might not have let it known, but I was having a mental overload on the inside. What do I do with a baby? How am I going to feed him? How do I use a bottle? How do I change a diaper w/o getting it everywhere? How? What? When? Why? So many questions and so little answers!! But my how much you learn as you go!

And then you have baby #2, and forget EVERTHING!! That's a different post......

Deep Thoughts

You know in life you will look back and realize how much you've learned in over a short period of time. Well here is what I've learned:

1.  Don't expect the dryer to dry if you cram it full!

2. Leave the scene when you feel like your head is about to spin around because your child has said your name a total of 1 million times in a whiny voice.

3.  Feel your heart and mind with positive things, this goes for people too( surround yourself with positive people)!!

4.  Back to laundry. If you fold as you go, then it doesn't pile up.

5.  Never forget to take my probiotics...... TMI for some, but saved my life!

6.  Check Groopdealz often.

7.  Hold your family close and count your blessings they are healthy!

8. Seek GOD in the midst of my storms, which happen to be around the 900,000 time one of my children says my name in a whiny voice.

9.  Love my babies, which tend not to be babies anymore.

10.  Find a hobby besides cooking deserts :0)

Overcome

As a suggestion by my Bro-in-law, I downloaded the Praise Baby tunes to use during my runs. Today I decided to listen to them instead of reading the iPad on the treadmill. Half way through my run I became so overcome with emotion that I had to stop. I could only think of one person, and knew God was asking me to pray for them and their family. I got off the treadmill and kneeled by my bed and prayed with tears in my eyes!

I've never met this person, Kelly, but only know about her through conversations with my Mother. Kelly has survived colon cancer, but unfortunately it spread and now she is in her last stages of Pancreatic Cancer.  She works at my Mom's school, and is the school counselor.  Kelly is only about 38 years old and has two elementary aged children. Since she has been sick she has continued coming to school and helping out in the office. She tried experimental treatment at MD Anderson, but was released from them because they said they could do nothing further. They told Kelly to go home and get in touch with Hospice.

I always ask my Mom how she is doing, and yesterday asked about her again.  Mom told me that Kelly is so weak that her husband helped her into the office sometimes this week.  She spoke in a whisper  with the new counselor and her husband gathered her things out of her office.  Kelly came to my Mom's office and Mom said Kelly gave her a hug and would not let go.  She told my Mom she would be back! She gave everyone in the office a similar hug!

So what's my point....The song I was listening to was "Better Is One Day." I can only imagine how hard this time has been for Kelly and her family, especially for her children. Knowing that you will only see them for a few more days, weeks or one more year.  (CRYING NOW!!) But can you imagine when she wakes up and sees God's face smiling at her and says "Welcome, My Good and Faithful Servant! You will hurt no more!" HOW AMAZING!!!

Please pray for Kelly and her family!!

Sincerely,
Averie

A Mothers Truth.....

I can honestly say I have been thinking about writing this post for a good while now, and am finally sitting down to put it together........Here are my thoughts.

There comes a time in a mother's life, where you stop dead in your tracks and say "LOOK at me! I look like a bum!" I had this moment a few weeks ago. You get use to going through the routine, especially with two under the age of 2!! You lay in bed till one starts crying, get up go fix the bottle, all the while never taking off your pajamas.  Then a few minutes later the next child rises, and wants MILK and MICKEY MOUSE! and you still don't take off your pajamas. You are lucky if you remember to brush your teeth or wash your face.  Then after a morning full of tending to children, which includes cleaning up toys, changing diapers, fixing breakfast, etc..(the list could go on and on). It's time for lunch!! and guess what you might have managed to put a few necessities on but you still have on your pajamas.

THIS WAS ME...and still is most of the time. But I had an epiphany!!! If I don't take care of myself, then who will?! It never was a priority to get my hair done, and I had managed to have 1 pedicure in my lifetime.  I know, I know!! Am I entitled to these things just because I'm a mother? NO! But it is necessary to keep your sanity.  I was putting everybody elses' needs in front of my own, and that is why I kept my pajamas on all day long :O(

I want to be that beautiful women described in Proverbs 31. I want to be that wife of noble character, but first I have to manage my life so that I can ultimately be that mother and wife.

With all this epiphany going on I also felt further and further away from God.  I have not managed my personal time with God like I should have. Because as parents you are the one who misses out on those Sunday or Wednesday night sermons, because you are in the nursery.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE My boys, but have realized it's my own fault that I have drifted and for lack of better explanation, (stayed in my pajamas for the past 2 years).

Mothers, make yourself a priority! You need it! and  make your ONE-on-ONE time with God a priority DAILY!!!!!! God has never left my side, but I have ventured away from his because I was too sidetracked with my children to give him the time he deserves. Our children will remember our relationships with them, but will also remember how we handled our relationship with God! Don't put it on the back burner, and always get up and put your clothes on for the day!!!

Catalyst, What's the big deal?

Catalyst was formulated for the US Olympic Wrestling team a few years back. They contacted Advocare looking for a product that we help them burn fat but keep muscle!

Catalyst is a branch chain amino acids(BCAA) grown from microorganisms into yeast that form the highest possible quality amino acid strands. The BCAA forces the body to be more efficient in turning fat into energy by protecting muscle tissue. Catalyst is best used when you are active, immediately pre-workout, in between meals if you feel hunger prior to bed. A serving is 1 per 50 pounds of body weight....round up (or the recommended dose of 3) If you are looking for muscle tone and body definition as you get leaner, then catalyst is a must!

The results, I've been taking catalyst since the middle of February and have lost 3 to 4 inches, and have noticed muscle tone!! Others have had the same results!!

Amino Acids that support & preserve muscle tone, enhances strength

& energy during workouts & helps rid the fat, retain the muscle
and leave your body more toned and defined!

Ingredients In Advocare's Spark....

If you are considering trying Spark, or already use it and want to know more about the key ingredients, then you need to read this.

B-Vitamin Complex

  • The complex used in Spark is composed of a mixture of thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12 and pantothenic acid. B vitamins are necessary for the healthy function of almost all of the body's major processes. They are considered "essential" nutrients because they are necessary and cannot be made by the body, thus they must be supplemented either through vitamins or food.
B vitamins play an important role in the body's metabolic cycle and direct energy production. This is why most nutritional energy drinks, including AdvoCare Spark contain a B-vitamin complex.
B vitamins are also used by the body to help maintain healthy blood vessels, aid in the digestion of carbohydrates and in the normal functioning of the nervous system, muscles and heart. Most B vitamins work together and, in many cases, provide the greatest benefit when supplemented together.

Taurine

  • Taurine is a nonessential, sulfur-containing amino acid. It is found naturally in animal and fish proteins and is highly concentrated in organ meats. Taurine supports neurological development and is thought to have antioxidant properties. Many studies have shown that athletes who supplemented with taurine experienced improved athletic performance. These findings have encouraged many energy-drink manufacturers, including AdvoCare, to include taurine in their product formulations.

L-Tyrosine

  • L-tyrosine is another amino acid, and it's involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters in the brain. It is a precursor for thyroid hormones and catecholamines, the body's "fight-or-flight" hormones, which are released by the adrenal glands. These two groups of hormones are very important for energy production, thyroid function and the body's ability to deal with stress.

Choline

  • Similar to B-vitamins, choline serves many functions in our bodies. It helps maintain the structure of cell membranes, is a precursor for the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and protects our livers from accumulating excess fat. There appears to be a large need for choline during early fetus and infant development to support the rapid rate of growth and brain development that occurs during these stages.
Research published in a 2004 Journal of the American College of Nutrition article by Dr. Steven Zeisel, director of the University of North Carolina's Nutrition Research Institute, suggests that choline might be essential throughout life to help prevent memory loss, lower cholesterol and prevent cardiovascular disease.

Caffeine

  • Caffeine is well known for its stimulatory powers. Consuming caffeine does not eliminate the need for sleep; it temporarily reduces the feeling of being tired. Caffeine also increases the amount of physical or mental labor a person can handle. According to a study by Robert Motl in the April 7 issue of ScienceDaily, subjects were able to exercise longer and harder when supplementing with caffeine before a workout.

GABA

  • GABA is another amino acid and an inhibitory neurotransmitter. It has a tendency to act as a "balancer" in the brain, balancing the excitation of neurons with their inhibition. This helps produce a calming effect and also can assist in mental focus. The ingredient then acts as a balance in an energy drink like AdvoCare Spark.
