Comfy Spot

Well farming has gotten busy, and Hoss and I are trying to keep ourselves entertained.  I've almost finished my raised garden project, which will give Hoss and I something to play in outside! Here are a few snap shots of our lives the past few days.

First attempt at eating a chocolate chip cookie on his own!

He found the drawer under his crib and decided it was supposed to be used for climbing!

Found a comfy spot!

Praise

I praise Him in the valleys, and I praise Him on the mountain tops!
I love this song, because it embodies everything that I want from God!

Eradicate, such a strong word

I seem to have a picky eater on my hands.  If it's not a fruit or cheese we don't eat it. Luckily we found that he does like Spaghetti-O's. Can you tell from the pictures?
For the life of me I could not figure out why he was not drinking his milk.  He always loved his milk in the mornings and before bed, but lately he turns his head. So I thought well maybe the milk is bad, but no such luck.  Then I thought I'll just add a little chocolate and I know he will drink it then, but no such luck. Then the idea crossed my mind to see if he will drink milk from his bottle, and LUCK!! Now, how am I going to wean him to drinking milk from a sippy cup?? Any suggestions? For now we will stick to the bottle for our milk. I am learning that I am a little push over when it comes to weaning! Let's just say that I enjoy my sleep and I dread the day when we get rid of our paci!!! And that day needs to come real soon. Maybe in the second trimester when I am not so tired!! Prayers Needed for Hoss and I as we attempt to eradicate the paci! :O)
"MOM! What do you mean I have to get rid of my paci?"

"And are you telling me I am going to be a big brother? Too much"

10 weeks and a lot to go..........

What I Miss

I don't know if it is just the time of year or hormones, but I miss these people. You grow up thinking that you will always live close to your family, but it sometimes it does not work out that way.  I am so jealous of friends who have both sets of parents and siblings who live just down the road or 20 minutes away. If you are that person, appreciate it and go see them every chance you get ! Don't get me wrong I love where I live, I just wish my family lived down the road! Ok, guess it is the hormones! :O)
But I will be planning a trip to see these GREAT people very soon!

I miss my brother-in-law too! Just didn't have a picture. Sorry Big Rob!

One thing that I don't miss is .......................

this nasty little creature that greeted us at our backdoor when we got home from church. If you notice by the pictures our porch was destroyed as I tried to sweep the nasty thing out so Adam could shoot it! Let's just say at one point I told Adam, " If this thing attacks me, I think I will die!"
Breaking into our porch has become a bad habit of this creature and all his little friends!

And the other thing that I don't miss is my hair! EASY, Mom-Do!
10 weeks and counting

Weeks to Remember

In the days that I have not written, some special things occurred.  Adam had left for Honduras and I took a test. You can imagine the shock, but joy I felt when reading it was positive. I had to share it with somebody. So who has been my first call both times, " My sister!" I decided not to tell Adam until he got back from Honduras, because I knew he would worry and I didn't want to ruin his trip.  So I kept it a secret, which is very hard for me to do.  Adam finally got home late Friday night. I had already gone to bed and he came in and woke me up, and the first thing I said was "Guess What? We're having a baby!" He almost passed out.  He then told me that he had had this feeling on the airplane ride home that I was going to tell him I was pregnant when he got home. Weird huh!!! Well, this was a shock to us both, because we had decided to wait until next year. We are super excited and can't wait to see if we will be adding another grandson to Jacee and Pop's overwhelming all boy clan or the first granddaughter! All I know is that I am so ready for 12 weeks to be over. You always forget the miserable times during your first pregnancy, because the good always out weighs the bad in the end. There is nothing like the feeling of being car sick all day long for three months!!

Excuse the TERRIBLE picture of me!

This past weekend Adam and I attended Family Life's Weekend to Remember Marriage getaway! I was very hesitant at first because I didn't know if I would enjoy sitting through speaker after speaker talking about marriage, but WHOA did it ever exceed my expectations.  I learned that expectations are pre-determined failures, and that is exactly what I had done when thinking about this weekend.  It was so encouraging to see hundreds of couples sitting all around  praying and sharing their hearts with each other (during our project times). Adam and I plan on going back every year just for what we call a "MARRIAGE REVIVAL!" Don't we all need a revival in our lives, not only a spiritual revival but also a "MARRIAGE REVIVAL!" Thanks to good friends who suggested we go to this awesome weekend. I highly recommend any married couples to attend a Weekend to Remember near you.  Here is a link for Weekend to Remember. If you are considering going, check out their facebook page and become a fan because they advertise ways that you can get 50% off the registration fee. That's the only way we could go, we used a 50% off coupon!

The End

After 4 hours, a huge mess, and almost passing out because I hadn't eaten anything since I woke up, I finally finished Hoss's first birthday cake! So excited to see all my family, except a few who could not make it because of the weather!

One Year

Wow, we are ready for Spring.  It's hard to believe that this time last year I was literally cleaning out my room and organizing jewelry. I was nesting, getting ready for Hoss's arrival! My room has never been cleaner.  Ironically, we experienced the same type of weather the week he was born. I can not believe that I will have a "one"year old come Saturday! I know every mom says this, but it is crazy how fast things change and your 'lil' baby grows up right in front of your eyes.

To prepare for Hoss's birthday party, I started making his cake.
Note to self: Don't get the powdered sugar bag too close to the mixer!

Obviously this picture was not taken today, but what a beautiful day it was!
 "We are ready for Spring!"

And here is what it looks like at my house today! It's still snowing.

And this is my almost "one" year old baby!
"Say Cheese!"
We just love his two teeth. We have yet to sprout anymore.
Hopefully my child will have more than
  two teeth!

This past week, Adam went to Honduras with a group from our church. They had a great trip and are expected to go back in the future! Maybe I will be able to tag along next time! Adam made me take this picture of him and Hoss before he left.

I hope everybody is snuggled up and warm on this cold, dreary day!
If you haven't figured it out by now,
"We are ready for Spring!"
