It seems as though summer has arrived. With the temperatures creeping up to over 95 degrees on a daily basis, I begin to think about how hot July might be! We all might melt away. My day consists of trying to find the coolest thing to wear in my closet (which I would prefer it to be nothing, but the neighbors might not like the view), finding a ponytail holder (or making the effort to wash my hair just to put it back up in a ponytail), and finally not bothering with make-up. The reason for the lazy lack of effort in my day to day life resides around the fact that I am 23 weeks and GROWING, and pregnancy and heat don't mix. But I have a child that insists on going outdoors at least two to three times a day or whenever he is awake. So I make the best of it, at least I can get a tan." Oh, but can you get a tan under a shade tree?!" I'll be the first person to try.
The summer has started off busy as usual. From farming to family, we always tend to be spread so thin during this time of year. The first trip of the summer was to visit my parents and help celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday with family ( and I mean family, b/c it turned into a family reunion.....Whenever the words "Fish-Fry" are mentioned around anybody half, they all come a running!! :o) But we had a blast, and enjoyed all the family that did come help us celebrate. Ross was able to keep up with his three cousins, even if he did also learn to back-hand and scream at any moment. (That behavior is still a work in progress! hint..hint)
Let me explain the pic below... This is how my Mom use to entertain us when we were younger. Don't ask, but it sure was fun to see her do it again.
The Gang.
Captain "Jack" and his sneak attack on Pop.
The next weekend my bro and sis-in-law came down to visit with their precious "growing too fast" little girl. We had such a great time watching Ross and her play, because this was the first time that he was able to keep up with her. It was so nice for him to have somebody to play with, even if he stayed in trouble the whole time (That behavior is still a work in progress!)
Soaking Dad....What fun?
In between our many travels we just live outside, and the water hose is our close friend. You know how parents get upset if their children happen to spray them with the water hose, I'm completely opposite these days. I find myself begging for a soak, or wading in his "too small for me" baby pool! Enough about the HEAT!! Here is our life.............
Yes, that is mud! :O)
If you don't think your children watch everything you do, you are totally wrong!
