Cleanse Day 3

Today was a little everywhere for us. It was one of those days were you bite the bullet, and decide to take both children to the store to get new shoes. Stressful, doesn't even begin to describe our experience. Let's just say I looked like one of those Mom's where everybody says, "Oh Poor Girl!!" haha..But mission accomplished! Two new pairs of shoes, that crossing my fingers will last for a while so we don't have to make that trip again anytime soon!! I love my children, but love my children at home! ;O)

Ok, onto what the post is supposed to be about! I can honestly say I feel amazing day 3, and those 4lbs I had put on from not eating right over the past few weeks, has dropped by 2!!

AdvoCare Cleanse Day 3

Breakfast:
I remembered this AM! Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake...

Lunch:
Chick-fil-a Grilled Chicken Sandwich with a side of fruit. I did use the pack of sauce that comes with the sandwich...

Supper:
Blackened Tilapia(I coat with blackening seasoning, then lightly coated with Italian Bread Crumbs...less than 1/4 of a cup) browned in skillet with a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil
I have learned to cut out the pink-brown vein in the fish..Makes it taste less fishy!
Sauteed green beans, baked sweet potatoes, and a Sister Schubert's Whole Wheat Dinner Roll

Snacks:
I'm a creature of habit so ate my trusty Trail Mix from Wal-Mart minus the M&Ms, blackberries, and a few Stacy's Pita Chips(parmesean flavor)

I posted on Facebook today how you are truly wasting your money if you take AdvoCare products, but don't change your eating habits and lifestyle(exercising). It was not intended for any specific person!!
Let me say I do not eat healthy 100% of the time! I would go crazy if I did, but I do try to eat really healthy during the week and then allow myself a splurge or two on the weekends!!! It keeps me sane.

AdvoCare Cleanse Day 2

Cleanse Day 2:

So for some reason today turned out to be Mexican Tuesday!! I can never pass up a great Mexican dish!

Breakfast:
I'll be honest here and admit I forgot to eat breakfast. After drinking the Peaches-n-Cream fiber drink, I was so full and lost track of following my schedule. Oh well, I just move on!

Lunch:
At our local El Canaveral I ordered lunch chicken fajitas with no sour cream and no tortillas! I just ate the grilled chicken and veggies along with the side of lettuce, pico, and guacamole.

Dinner:
Chicken and Avocado Enchiladas (click for link) with fresh salsa. I did tweak the recipe a bit. I used whole wheat tortillas and a tiny amount of plain greek yogurt when it called for sour cream in the avocado sauce, and left out the cheese!! But loaded up on fresh cilantro, chicken, and veggies!!

Throughout the day I snacked on Wal-Mart Trial Mix minus the M&Ms, apples, and strawberries!!

Recipes During AdvoCare Cleanse: Day 1

I am not a nutritional guru, but I always have people ask me about suggestions for recipes during the AdvoCare 10 day Cleanse. So I decided since this is Day 1 of my cleanse, I would share my meals for the next 10 days so that maybe I can give others new ideas for their own meals.

During AdvoCare's 10 Day Cleanse, you are to stay away from sugars, fried foods, and anything dairy. It's a very gentle cleanse, as the say it's "Gentle and Uneventful!!" You should get my drift.  Everybody should do Cleanses preferably every 90 days, because our bodies take in a ton of toxins and rarely get removed due to how we eat, exercise, etc.....

Many of these recipes I carry over past the 10 Day Cleanse to maintain a healthy eating routine.

CLEANSE DAY 1:

Breakfast: Dark Chocolate Meal Replacement Shake

Lunch: Turkey sandwich with whole wheat bread and mustard
Whole Grain chips with Salsa

Dinner: Spicy Baked Shrimp (found on Pinterest, click for link) with Brown Rice
Purple Hull Peas and Sister Schubert's Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls

Snacks throughout the day: Trail Mix from Walmart minus the M&Ms
Cuties Oranges and Tostitos Multi grain Chips

and TONS OF WATER and unsweet TEA.....and can't forget FRUIT PUNCH SPARK!!

Great Recipe: Pecan Crusted Pork Tenderloin, etc..

Had to share this recipe that we had for dinner tonight!! It was very good!

ingredients
1 pork tenderloin
6 bacon strips (I omitted the bacon)
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation:
Cut the tenderloin lengthwise into 6 long strips approximately 1/4 inch thick. Lay the slices on a cutting board; they should be the same size and shape as the bacon strips. Place a strip of bacon on top of each piece of tenderloin. Starting at one end, roll the tenderloin into a pinwheel medallion. Secure with two toothpicks.
Set aside 1 cup of the Carolina Mustard Sauce and apply remaining sauce to the outside of the pinwheels. Stir together the pecans, salt, and pepper, and coat the tenderloin pinwheels with the pecan mixture. Cut each of the pinwheels through the equator to make two thin pinwheel medallions.
Build a charcoal and/or wood fire for direct grilling. Place the medallions on the grill over medium-high heat (375 to 400°F) and cook for 7 to 8 minutes on each side or until the edges of the bacon start to crisp. Serve with the reserved sauce drizzled over each pinwheel.

Carolina Mustard Sauce

ingredients
3/4 cup prepared yellow mustard
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce

preparation
In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well. Make at least 24 hours prior to usage for best flavor. Store refrigerated in a tightly covered jar for up to 2 weeks.
For Desert I cooked the Greek Yogurt Cheesecake I had pinned on Pinterest!! It was actually really good too. Definitely good if you're wanting low-fat sweet! I topped with strawberries.

Questions?

3 YEARS!! Really? It's been three years since my first born arrived in this world. WOW...

I remember that day so well. Actually an all nighter with  my water breaking at 1:45am, Adam and I frantically driving to the hospital. Running every red light, and being chased down by cops. OK, no, we were not really chased down by cops, but I really think Adam would have  had a blast if so!! I remember him flooring it, just because he could. I was just waiting on Ross to be born in the car, because I just knew at any minute he would make his grand debut! But wow, aren't new parents wrong, in more ways than one. Not only did we make it to the hospital, but Adam was able to drive the speed limit and still had time to spare before contractions kicked in full gear.

Ross finally arrived that next morning. I was in complete utter shock when he was born. I might not have let it known, but I was having a mental overload on the inside. What do I do with a baby? How am I going to feed him? How do I use a bottle? How do I change a diaper w/o getting it everywhere? How? What? When? Why? So many questions and so little answers!! But my how much you learn as you go!

And then you have baby #2, and forget EVERTHING!! That's a different post......

Until Next Time,
Averie

Deep Thoughts

You know in life you will look back and realize how much you've learned in over a short period of time. Well here is what I've learned:

1.  Don't expect the dryer to dry if you cram it full!

2. Leave the scene when you feel like your head is about to spin around because your child has said your name a total of 1 million times in a whiny voice.

3.  Feel your heart and mind with positive things, this goes for people too( surround yourself with positive people)!!

4.  Back to laundry. If you fold as you go, then it doesn't pile up.

5.  Never forget to take my probiotics...... TMI for some, but saved my life!

6.  Check Groopdealz often.

7.  Hold your family close and count your blessings they are healthy!

8. Seek GOD in the midst of my storms, which happen to be around the 900,000 time one of my children says my name in a whiny voice.

9.  Love my babies, which tend not to be babies anymore.

10.  Find a hobby besides cooking deserts :0)
