Patience Part II

Well the last few days have been long to say the least. I guess I had convinced myself that I was having this baby early, and was waiting on any minute for my water to break and the excitement to begin. But God's timing is not always our timing!! So  I am still sitting here waiting on that instant twinge of pain when I can call Adam and say "It's Time!" (I've really been wanting to use that line, so here is hoping!) If I'm still sitting here Monday night waiting, we are scheduled to be induced Tuesday morning. I have to say I would prefer this method because I can have all my ducks in a row, and my Mother will be able to be here during the whole process, but honestly I am a little nervous! Guess that is expected.....

As I sit here and wait I have been thinking about Job in the Bible. I know "Why Job?" Well, for one reason I am on a mission to read through the whole Bible and this is the place I stopped at last night.  Let me say that I do realize how much pain and suffering Job went through during his I guess you could call "trial" by the devil. But my word wouldn't you think his friends would get the hint after 10 chapters!! I told Adam last night that it was ridiculous how much Job's friends like to argue! Could they not get the hint, that all he needed was their sympathy for the moment, not their constant questioning and ridicule? At first the book of Job was a little confusing to me because I couldn't understand what Job's  friends were trying to tell him through all their talking.......But with a little help from commentary and honestly "prayer" I could see the true picture of what his friends  thought of him.  Poor Man! Don't we all wish we had the "patience" of Job!

So if Job can wait and focus on God during his trials and constant nagging of friends, I am not going to complain anymore about my little impatient attitude!

Maybe not a good comparison, but Job was just on my mind! :O)

Patience

He doesn't know it yet, but his life is about to change! And ours as well.  No more family of three..But what fun these two little brothers will have as I follow along, or should I say chase them along.  I'm not worried about the first 6 months or so...Just those next 20 years! Everybody always says not to pray for patience because you might not like how God teaches you, but I bit the bullet and have been praying for patience for the past 9 months. And now my time has come...

Even though they might drive you nuts, and make you wonder why you decided to have another wonderful baby! One of those "What was I thinking moments?"That moment when you are so tired you can barely hold your eyes open and your child is screaming crying and has thrown everything in his room over the gate because he doesn't want to take a nap, moment!!

God always seems to remind me, with Ross' innocent smile or his sweet kiss, that they are "Gifts from God!" More precious than anything on Earth!
What a responsibility God has given us to raise a child, and I always pray that God would help me along the way!
So....No more quick trips to the grocery store or quick trips to Little Rock. For the next 5 to 6 years you can catch me hibernating in my cabin. Waiting on that moment when things grow easier for us to venture out!
But I wouldn't have it any other way....

God, grant me the wisdom to raise my children to serve You throughout their life.

DIY Time of Year

It seems that I always start my blog with the same statement, "It's been a while." Which is normally true. So many things have been going on in our lives, that finding time to sit and think is a chore.   I will officially be 37 weeks prego on Sunday, and am very excited to make this milestone. This pregnancy has been a little bit different than the first. I have had a few scary moments, but was glad to find out that what I was experiencing was pretty normal for your second baby.  I feel like I have not done a thing to get ready for baby, but honestly everything is already done since Ross just about left that stage  a few months ago.

Did I mention I found Pinterest? It has spurred my 'Betty Homemaker' nerve, and I have been loving all the DIY projects.  I found this bag, and decided I would give it a go. Since I've been wanting to break in my sewing skills, I thought it was a great way to start.
You can get the pattern here. My MIL helped me understand the pattern and put it together, but I did a lot of the sewing.  Here is my finished project, and I Love it!!

I have also made me one of these.  Waiting to wear when the weather and the outfit is right.

I am also wanting to take a picture like this before baby gets here, but have to find the right light. I think this is the classiest maternity pic of ever seen.  Sometimes maternity pics can get a little extreme for me, and that is why I have never had them, but this is beautiful!

My baby is not much of a baby anymore. He is about to have a rude awakening when brother gets here! I hope he adjust well, and that Dad can spend some quality time with him to help!
Once harvest is over that is!!

Family Tradition

I finally took the time to get Ross' hair cut, and decided we would use Adam's barber. Mr. Freddy has been cutting hair for 48 years. He has cut Adam's hair since he was a tot, so I thought why not keep up the family tradition.

As you can tell, it did not go as well as I had expected.
I am hoping for better luck next time.

At Your Feet- Casting Crowns

I don't know where I have been living for the past few years, but have finally noticed Casting Crowns. I am in-love with their music.  I was listening to their most recent album today, and came across this song.  WOW! It made me cry.

I fell away from God in college, and lived my life the way I wanted to live. What is so amazing is that He was waiting for me the whole time to "Turn Around" (which reminds me of another song I love). I finally grew up and placed my past and my life "At His Feet." How wonderful that we can lay ourselves at the feet of Jesus and he helps us up! Hope this is inspiring to some, because it touched me!!

I wanted to share this song. I hope you love it as much as I!

What Does A Girl Do on Her 30th Birthday?

I pondered this thought " What do I do on my birthday?" Here is what happened................

I am greeted by my handsome husband at 2:30 a.m. wishing me a 'Happy Birthday' and handing me our child who has been whimpering off and on all night because of a near "Bite his tongue off" accident that happened before bed.  I don't sleep!

The doctor's office greeted me with a "Happy Birthday Punch" otherwise known as Glucola (for my sugar test).  I gag.....but am happy with the results.

I leave the doctor on a mission to find a doughnut but decide that a more healthy breakfast would be better, so I find the nearest McDonald's and get the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese biscuit with hash brown. :O) As I am exiting off to try to go spend my Francesca's Gift Card ( I love this store) I am greeted by a man with a sign "HOMELESS HUGARY(yes, I know it's spelled wrong)." I remember my hash brown and decide that I will be generous today. I hand the starving man a hash brown, and he didn't act very thankful! Guess he didn't like hash-browns! Happy I have something to eat!

I don't find a thing to buy, and decide I would be better off saving it and using after I have the baby. I decide to go to the mall, and happen to stop by The 'Great' American Cookie Company and settle for a miniature chocolate chip double doozie cookie, and almost fall out when she tells me how much!! But I thought " who cares today, it's my 30th birthday."

I patiently await a call from my mother, who sings 'Happy Birthday' to us every year on our birthday, but it never comes.  I decide that I will call her the day after my birthday and ask her if she forgot something and harass her about how she owes me more birthday money for forgetting. But as Adam and I are leaving our dinner date I get the call.  She has no idea that I put her on speaker phone in the parking lot so that the whole world could hear!

I finally lay in bed and realize "What Does A Girl Do on Her 30th Birthday?" She thanks God for the many blessings in her life, and thanks Him for allowing her to live 30 years! That's what I did on my birthday.

You Are Beautiful

Right now my life for the past few days consists of taking Ross on small road trips to see Daddy on the farm, or going to Papa Joe's (Local store) to get a drink.  We are pretty much home-bound right now because Ross' virus is contagious, and I don't want every Mom looking at me with that "I can't believe she brought that child around here" look!! Because I know I've probably given them before too! So until Ross is better we are hulled up in the house.  Thank goodness we can go see Neicee and Poppa since the doc said adults should not catch it. OR we are hoping that none of us adults get it!

All I listen to these days is Christian music on KLove or AFR. I have found that there are some amazing songs out there and are very uplifting if you just give them a chance. I enjoy being able to sing-a-long with them as I drive down the road.  I wanted to share this song that I have always loved, but have been hearing it a lot lately on the radio.  Adam and I love Third Day, and I think this is such a perfect song to how I am feeling these days! Thought I would share it.

Saying a prayer, and singing this song...
